<p>I worked in China for a while in the mid '90s. My young Chinese colleagues told me at the time that they tried politics (which failed at Tianamen Square) and they would next try business. So far business has succeeded at changing the economy from communism to capitalism. Losing authoritarian rule will take another generation; we hope for a slow, peaceful transition.</p>
