Is consistency better?

Say a person had an SAT I score of 2100 (700 in each section).

Now, say another person had an SAT I score of 2100 too, but this time they had scores of 650 CR, 800 M, 650 W. (Or it could be a different score, like 670 CR, 680 WR, 750 M, but the point is still the same).

Which seems more impressive - the fact that a person is well-rounded or the fact that a person excels ina specific area?

Most colleges look at highest score of each section so i wouldn’t worry if the score drop a little bit.

In some cases, it may depend on the applicant’s school.

For example, it is much better (albeit still subpar) to have 700 in all sections than a 700CR/600M/800W split if you’re applying to schools with strong math backgrounds, such as MIT and Wharton.
