10 char…

depends on the school

CAS?

10 char…

what about engineering at nu and cornell? sry to somewhat jack this thread

its ok =) its here to help everyone.

I’m pretty sure that in general, Cornell is more selective.

About the same. Cornell has lower admit rate but Northwestern has higher test scores.

why are cornells test scores so low then

they probably look at the apps more closely rather than such an emphasis on standardized tests. that seems more fair to me anyway.

I got a likely from Cornell Engineering, but got waitlisted at Northwestern.

well, i got waitlisted by Northwestern; so hopefully, cornell(CAS) is easier to get into than Northwestern (Weinberg)

“they probably look at the apps more closely rather than such an emphasis on standardized tests.”

ha, take a looksy at all the 2200+ SAT kids who were rejected/waitlisted at NU this year: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/northwestern-university/479874-official-northwestern-university-class-2012-decisions.html

NU’s applicant pool may be stronger; Cornell’s ivy league affiliation sways a lot of kids

maybe the accept rate is lower because of more applicants who apply because it is an ivy? i got into northwestern engineering, so i guess i have hope for cornell. no likely letter though, which makes me nervous

what’s the hardest school to get in at NU?

what about compared to G.W. I heard their acceptance rate this year was 12%

i’m pretty sure gw’s standards are lower than cornells or northwesterns. i think they also might WL or reject people who use it as a safety because one of my friends was WL when his stats are considerably better.

george washinton’s acceptance rate dropped from 37% to 12%? doubt it.

nah, people who are calculated “12%” for GW are wrong. They’re probably taking the # of ** spots in the class ** divided by the applicants. Remember that schools accept more applicants than they have spots for since not everyone who gets an acceptance letter ends up going.
