is csula really that bad?

I heard that its full of ghetto people with a lot of gangs around this area. I also heard the professors don’t care abt students

I’d encourage you to visit the campus for yourself. Talk to the students about their experience in class and around campus.

When you say “bad,” do you mean that in terms of the academics, neighborhood, or the people attending the school? I have a freshman friend that goes there and she likes it. I suggest visiting the campus and see if there’s a tour guide who can help you answer questions. Location wise, it’s in between DTLA and Monterey Park. The demographics of both neighborhoods are ethnically diverse. I don’t think gangs are actually present on campus. If you’ve lived in a suburban and/or quiet area, it might take some time to adjust to the campus. College is what you make out of. Find and make great friends, and ask for help when you need it. The people make all the difference in college, no matter where you go.

The term “ghetto people” is pretty offensive

It’s a CSU with a relatively high acceptance rate where only 4% of the students live on campus. I can’t imagine it would be as good as SDSU, or CSULB, or the better CSUs
