Is Dartmouth a stretch or a joke?

I am a junior and I recieved my PSAT scores a couple days ago and scored a 2000. I am in two AP classes this year and recieving a B+ in both. My other classes are all honors and I am recieving an A- in a couple and a B+ in one. Extra curriculars include managing a couple sports teams, a summer program at yale, work with special needs children 15 hours a week (I get paid though because its a job), work with Key Club (recording secretary, 80+ hours community service last year). I am not outstanding in anything and my grades are pretty average…do I have a shot at Dartmouth. I am looking at schools to visit/research and I don’t know if I should include Dartmouth, it is definitely my favorite. Thanks for any input…

if its your dream school you should apply no matter what.

Luckily, it is early enough in the game for you to work on making yourself more appealing in Dartmouth’s eyes. Work on SAT’s, keep your grades up, and good things will happen. Even if you don’t get into Dartmouth, these things will make your chances better at every other school.

P.S. take PSAT scores with a grain of salt. I got a 181 as a junior which went to a 2300 without prep.

tough to say. I need more info.

80+hours isn’t that much i am sorry to say :(.
but like brassmonkey said, you should apply no matter wat! i did that last year, but was rejected, but i am applying for transfer  hopefully this time it’ll work :)
