Is designing my own major worth it?

My big plan is to own & manage restaurants but I also want to become a Chef. I plan on going to culinary school after I am finished w/ undergrad. I want the BA as a back up plan and also I want to learn about business & the hospitality industry. I know you need a BA + experience to manage rests.

So, enough w/ the background info…My school has 3 majors that interest me:

Business; Concentration:Management

Nutrition & Food Science; Concentration: Food Service Administration

Recreation Administration; Concentration: Resort & Lodging

Business; way too many boring classes, the same w/ Recreation…it has too many boring comp classes…The Food Serv, admin minor really interests me, I’d like to combine that w/ small business & accounting classes…Nutrition & Food has way too many science courses and those labs are killer!

Would it be best to choose one of the majors and the food admin minor? Or create my own major choosing classes I know I would truely benefit from? Thanks.
