Is dorm@lucky good?

I’m a student at UWMadison, and since that school doesn’t require any student to live on campus (which is why I applied to it), I’ve been searching for off campus apartments and got an email from Dorm@Lucky.

Their apartments are really nice, but $2500/month? That’s not affordable, and I doubt it’s comparable to city prices. I suppose their advantage is they’re near campus, but I don’t care about that too much.

Have you used dorm@lucky before? What do you think?

That’s for a full large single apt. A typical shared 2 BR is half that. Very well located and prestigious.

I wouldn’t use the word prestigious for a dorm / apt building
For freshman - this level of $$ is unnecessary
Lucky is well located and nice building - my sophomore daughter lives there - but frankly too $$ for what it is. Hard to believe but there are even more expensive apt buildings in Madison
Personally - live in a dorm freshman year for the experience then move off campus

Theres other apartments cheaper.

I am a recent UW Madison parent. Are you an incoming freshman? If so, you should absolutely try and live in one of the traditional on campus dorms if at all possible.

Lucky is not worth that price and often attracts students who decide very late and can’t get a traditional dorm. I just think you will be tied into the campus community better at the outset if you are in a dorm, using your meal plan, have all those social activities at your fingertips.

I also wouldn’t use the word “prestigious” to describe a living situation on/near campus. The housing market is a little crazy in Madison but not as crazy as the marketing material will advertise. I would call it “high end” and another thing I’d personally call it is overpriced for what it is.

I mean… where is it not lol?

Well BITD a certain private dorm was considered THE place to live. Then Laurie Dann kinda hurt the image.
