Hi everyone!
I would like to start off with community college then transfer to UCB or UCLA. Eventually I want to go to medical school. Is Diablo Valley College (DVC) a good point to start with? How’s their biological science program? Will it be easier to transfer to top UCs than other California community colleges? Thanks guys!

DVC is a fine school but, they don’t list UCB or UCLA as TAG destinations. I believe both admit plenty of transfers but, don’t ‘guarantee’ admission via TAG like the other UCs do. It is super competitive every year. They (UCB) have an acceptance rate around 20%. Only slightly higher than for freshmen.

This chart will give you a good feel for where DVC students wind up.

The good news is, hundreds of students transfer from DVC to UCB every year. The bad news is I bet 1000 or more try.

It is a good plan but, be open minded about which UC you’ll wind up attending.
