Is education really what you make of it?

I am in a dilemma. I have the option of either going to a top school such as Hopkins or Lehigh, or a school such as Temple or UMBC. If I go to a top school, I will have to pay 20-30k per year, and so would have to take out loans for this amount. If I go to a lesser ranked school, I likely pay very little to nothing. I know that these schools aren’t as highly ranked and prestigious, but what does that mean; can I still be successful wherever I go if I work hard, earn a great gpa, and utilize the opportunities given to me? I would like to be an engineer. Please let me know your opinions. Thanks!!

Why would you want to go to Hopkins for engineering?

What kind of question is that?
