Is enrollment confirmation binding?

Hi!

I was accepted into a very selective masters program at UT Austin (my number 2 choice); however, I still have an interview with UNC in March before I get my decision from UNC, and they are my number 1 choice. If I accept my admittance and confirm my enrollment at Texas (it does not say it is or isn’t binding, nor does it mention a deposit), can I change my mind later if I do indeed get offered admission into UNC?

I appreciate any answers!

Thank you

All graduate programs have agreed to give applicants until April 15 to make their decisions. You do not need to make any commitment until then. There are programs which try to push applicants to make an earlier decision but they should not do so.

Definitely don’t accept their offer until you have your interview with UNC. Even if they’re pressuring you, they’d be a lot more angry if you accepted then rescinded later. Also, if they really are pressuring you for an early answer, I’d start to get concerned about joining the program at all. They should respect that you have options and are looking for the best fit for YOU.
