I’m a freshman right now and I’ve been VERY busy and almost have no extra time to have fun. I was just wandering if every freshman has been very busy just like me ?

No. You’re probably bad at managing your time.

Lots of freshmen think they’re busy; most really aren’t compared to a really heavy workload. Some will discover that later.

Agreed with both posters above. I was “really busy” as a freshman and had very little free time. Then as a sophomore, my workload got several times harder but I still had much, much more free time than I did as a freshman. I got better at managing my time.

A lot of freshman are A) bad at time management and B) trying to do too many things they don’t necessarily actually want to do.

Does this sound familiar to ya? ;)

I laugh every time a freshmen says they’re busy (espeically how busy they are JUST after they move in to the school - hah! right), unless they’re actually holding down like 2 jobs to pay tuition. For most freshmen busy entails “OMG I was hanging out in my hall all night and now I don’t have time to write my paper!”

On paper I’m busier than most people in my school, but I don’t feel that busy. I get 8 hours of sleep too. There’s no reason why you need to be pulling all nighters and feeling stressed - unless you waste your time at 5 hour dorm dinners.

Also people who claim they’re so busy are really not that busy. They’re wasting time complaining about being busy. I know one man who is probably the busiest person at my school besides the president, and he always has time to reply to my emails or chat with me. Then we have lazy tenured 1 class professor and just arrived freshmen who claim to be so busy…

Fixed.

Very busy with what?

I wasn’t busy at all, until I pledged for my frat…

I think it is just the adjustment from High school. I’m a senior taking all uper level classes which have several times more work and yet still have free time. I wouldn’t worry about it, you’ll learn to study and do work more efficiently.

It’s possible that you’re taking an overly rigorous courseload such as taking as many courses a semester as you did in high school, not a good idea because college courses require more reading, labwork, and longer papers than do high school classes. What courses are you taking?

Do mean in the past few weeks, or in general? Because around finals time lots of people do get very busy. But no, most freshmen are not so busy that they have no time for fun the entire semester.

I’m a freshman and even I find it amusing to hear people complain about how busy they are all the time.
Its all because of zero time management.

You may be comparing college life to high school life. Two different worlds.

Nah, I don’t usually feel that busy (except a couple weeks ago when i had a 250 page book, and a 5 and a 10 page essay due all in one week). Other people here feel a lot busier, but really it usually is due to poor time management.

To me it seems most kids here that complain/have a hard time getting their work done are the ones who procrastinate till the last minute.

no. not busy. i still have time to sleep 8 hours and watch antm
