Is Film Studies an easy major to get into?

Film studies has been the major I’ve wanted to study for forever. Movies are my life and that’s all I want to do for a living. I’m currently a community college student because I’m unable to pay for a 4-year university, and I’m unable to take out a loan. Even for state school. I know that prestigious 4-year liberal arts universitities give great financial aid to overachieving students with poorer backgrounds. Say at a college like Vassar, is it easier to get into the film program compared to the Biology program? I understand this isn’t true at schools like USC OR NYU. I’m doing really well In community and would like to apply to transfer. How difficult is it to get into the film program at these kinds of schools? Thanks

Are you asking about getting accepted…or are you asking about aid to pay for the colleges?

NYU, for example, gives very very little aid to transfer students.

Look at the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Scholarship for transfer students if you’re doing well in community college and you have financial need.
