Is Finance the right choice?

First things first, I want to become a web developer in the future because it is one of my passions and I was planning on studying Computer Science until I ran into two (successful) freelance web developers who advised me to study something else if I was only interested in web development as universities do not provide you with the necessary practical skills in that area. They both told me that they were extremely happy with the fact that they did not major in Computer Science because now they had web development skills that they learned online combined with other skills they learned at uni. One of them studied law while the other one studies advertisement and marketing which made me think of what else I want to study. I realized I’m actually really interested in finance (my mom wanted me to study it too all along) and I feel like it would be a nice thing to know next to web development. I’m currently a senior in high school so I sort of need to decide what I want to do, but does anyone else think that studying finance is a good idea?

Yes?

I mean, if you are interested in it and want to major in it, then it sounds like a fine choice. You can build web development skills through electives, online, part-time jobs, internships, or other opportunities.
