Is fine paying for drunk and driving offence a criminal record?

DUI is considered a criminal offense in the state of Florida.

It really depends on what kind of offense it was. If your DUI was considered a summary offense or citation, then no it will probably not be considered a criminal record - this level of crime is too minor to get worried about. If, on the other hand, your DUI was a misdemeanor (which is the lowest class I have ever seen for DUI) then yes, you have a criminal record even if the only punishment was a fine.

It depends upon the offense and the alcohol level

Take a look at the paperwork…if it is a misdemeanor, it is a crime.

It can be a crime not to pay a fine for a DUI offense.

Most forms ask something like: “Have you been convicted of a criminal offense (other than minor traffic offenses)”.

Paying a fine is the same as being convicted.
DUI is not a minor traffic offense.

Some traffic offenses are not crimes (like when those infernal cameras catch you exceeding the speed limit or stopping an inch past the line at a red light). But DUI is.

Is it a crime to pay a fine? No.
