I’m a first year college student currently doing business (either entrepreneurship or management, not sure yet) pre med. I’m considering psychiatry, but right now, I’m unsure. Business premed is very uncommon at my school, and I’ve been struggling to balance both. Food management is in the college of science, so it’d probably be easier to balance. My only fear is if owning a restaurant or med school don’t work out, would I be able to have a fulfilling job? (Owning a restaurant is a dream of mine.) I just want advice/opinions on being a food management major.
I think you need to talk with your academic counselor and /or go to the department that advises you on careers. You are bouncing from medicine to business to food management. These are all passion careers. In other words you need to want it. I knew I wanted to be a doctor and help people when I was 9. Something like 90% restaurants fail.
Something to think about is combining your passions. How about :https://eng100.engin.umich.edu/list/sec300/
