Is getting Honor Roll an academic Award?

You get a certficate for it, but is it considered an award?

Yes, but probably not the most prestigious.

yes but nothing special that will help you because almost everyone gets it

You probably won’t want to list it on your list of academic awards as it will seem like a filler

yeah, but only list that if you’re really really desperate and don’t have anything else to list. because honestly they can tell that from your grades

everyone pretty much makes honor role

lol, you spelled it wrong

if your applying to top colleges, that’s a given.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA not funny

for academic awards, can it only be the ones u got in school and stuff? what about extracirricular activites awards?

lol of course most of my are extracurricular activities. in fact my school doesn’t give out any awards, because they’re cheap and don’t want to waste money on honor roll ribbons

well i dont know …because on the common app it says ACADEMIC awards…so community service and stuff like movie club awards cant go on it?

oh i was thinking more like math team awards. if you want to put down “movie club award” and you’re mentioning movie club in your ECs, put it there in the place you get to explain your EC. if not, then don’t mention it if it’s not important to you, it’ll loook like filler.

piano and violin awards, i would guess would go under academic awards?

Yeah I would say that your movie club awards are going to have to go somewhere else, like not on the application. Community service can just be listed on your resume.
