Is global first year worth it? (Florida International University)

I am an international student.
I got accepted into FIU’s global first year (G1Y)
In my conditional acceptance letter it says: You must complete the G1Y program and be in good academic standing to proceed into your anticipated academic major at FIU. G1Y is here to prepare you for your successful transition into your major.

So I am assuming that global first year’s curriculum is different from regular bachelor degree first year.

I am concerned if this would affect my chance at getting jobs in the future because the first year curriculum is different from the regular one. And I don’t know very well on this subject, but I am assuming that the global first year probably focuses on learning and improving english, which I don’t think I really need because I have went to an english speaking school for four years and scored 110 out of 120 on TOEFL.

The tuition of the first year is going to be 15k including the scholarship and about 19k for the last three years. I do think that the cost is very affordable for a U.S. school.

If anyone has any experience or advice on how the global first year program is in FIU or in general, I would appreciate it!

If you have an FIU degree, then you met the requirements for an FIU degree like anyone else.

That shouldn’t be an issue.

Will an FIU degree translate into a job in your home country - that I don’t know.

Good luck.
