Is it true that a Masters degree in social science is worthless??? This has me worried.

It depends on what you mean by worthless. As the article says, if you plan on working in a specific field and really enjoy that field then a masters degree will not be worthless. If your social science of choice is economics then it will certainly open up some lucrative positions in finance and business economics. What field are you interested in? The biggest thing, as the author notes, is to spend some time in the actual field if you’re not set on teaching that specific subject.
