<p>is there grade inflation here? how easy is it to get a’s in for bio major?</p>
<p>well, I’ve received a’s (well, one was an a-) in the 3 classes I’ve taken so far. I would say that you’ll probably stay in approximately the same grade bracket as you were in high school. in my last class, the teacher said usually 5/20 or so get a’s. no one got above an a- in my italian class to the best of my knowledge, but I think that’s unusual. usually the profs do a bell curve so the top of the curve is approx 80%.</p>
<p>so there is no limits to the number of a’s given?</p>
<p>they set the standard at 90% (90% may be an a or an a- depending on the dept). if there aren’t what they consider enough a’s, they’ll curve the grades so there are.</p>
