Just curious, would like to hear yours

Did you have all As in your freshman and sophomore year? Jc

Gpa: 95% UW 97% W
All honors and all ap, curve is just kinda low in our school

Very high physics and bio grades, everything else is mid 90s

1430 SAT and 33 ACT (though this info was not on my application)

Recommender was my Biomed Teacher whom i knew all of HS, very strong though im not sure if they actually reached out to her

Essays were decently strong: touched on my extracurriculars of being a tennis player, Hispanic woman in STEM, biomed leader in our school, and a goal of bringing medicine and education to kids in underdeveloped areas (specifically eastern europe and latin america where my family originates). I will not lie, I added some humor to mine. Diversity essay was about bravery. Overall focused more on telling a story rather than a subtle brag and I think thats what ultimately got me on the waitlist.

Oh, and school is in NY

Edit: One more important detail! I was there at the 2024 OpenBio conference and I got to meet Sahil, Sean, Emma and the rest of the squad in person while introducing myself and doing a lab activity with Sahil himself. They were impressed I traveled all the way from NY to Boston for the event. That also may have been a factor.

The hype members are all from same school as the cofounder sahil. a bit suspicious

Wdym? Not sure what u mean by hype members. And if you mean they all go to the same college (Harvard), it’s because its a Harvard-based institution

Wow! that’s a great application of yours. Congrats on being waitlisted. That’s still a major accomplishment for a program that has <10% acceptance.

Just curious, do you have any prior research experience that you wrote in your application? (eg: publishing a paper, conducting research with a professor, independent research, etc)
