I saw Obama bumper stickers on two different cars on my way to work this morning. Of course that means nothing, but they were the first I had seen here in NYC.

I would love to see an Obama/McCain presidential election.

From post 45 I would pay 25 cents to find out what handle “Violinists” used to post under. I’d say it’s about a 99% chance that this is a sock-puppet ID for someone who doesn’t want to use their old ID anymore.

Lacking both intelligence and integrity the right wing falls back on its stock in trade of impugning people who do not agree with their un-American right wing agenda.

Hindoo: Do you mean Obama vs McCain or a Obama+McCain ticket? I would favor the latter, with Obama for P and McCain for VP (tho the opposite would also be OK).

In reality it doesn’t matter to fundingfather or I who wins the nomination because neither of us will venture over to the evil side. What decides elections is who those blessed independent voters are attracted to. Oh the frustration of this two party system we have!!

I was in Ireland during the 2007 elections and they were far more interesting because of the wide diversity of choices on the national slates.

The Obama link on post 74 still has no other option, but signing in, still works for me. As does the link from post 78 which has a splash page which wants you to sign in, but does have a skip to the main site option.

I guess I am one of those that was on the fence and leaning pro-Hillary mainly because I felt that Obama would get creamed in the general election. Head over heart. After Iowa and his speech, my head tells me that the heart may be right after all. There is still a little nagging worry whether he is truly electable in Nov

“I guess I am one of those that was on the fence and leaning pro-Hillary mainly because I felt that Obama would get creamed in the general election”

What makes you think that, and is there any margin of victory in any number of primaries that would change your mind?

Post #88 was directed at a pro-Hillary (teacher22) post that has been deleted.

zoosermom: No, my concern is related to there being a fairly long time interval between Super-duper Tuesday and the general election. That is a lot of time that would allow the Republicans to dig up dirt, organize a smear campaign, swift-boat him, etc.

I do understand Hillary’s point that she has been vetted and all the dirt and smearing against her has been going on for the past 15 years or so. A few more months won’t make a big difference.

Besides, a lot could happen in the world.

“I guess I am one of those that was on the fence and leaning pro-Hillary mainly because I felt that Obama would get creamed in the general election.”

Personally, I think it is the other way around. I think Hillary is much more vulnerable in the general election than Obama - especially if the Republican candidate is McCain.

Thanks for answering – I wasn’t sure what you meant. I respectfully disagree. I think Obama is a relatively “clean” candidate and it’s very likely that he couldn’t be smeared in the same way that Hillary could. I actually think there would be a reticence to go after Obama because he is black. HOwever, if there is something “Swiftboatable” by virtue of being true, then who knows?

I already heard some of the spin this morning. Obama’s admitted use of cocaine will probably be used against him. (Even though Bill Clinton was elected when he didn’t inhale.)

I don’t know if that is “Swiftboatable” or not.

I think there might be a reticence to go after Obama because he hasn’t yet been riled up enough to sling mud as far as I have seen-
and the " im rubber, you’re glue" playground aphorism I think may apply where the mud slinger ends up the one covered.
He has admitted to drug use in his youth publicly- but I imagine that will be used by someone

But I agree that they won’t use his being African American as the base for a target- no one wants to look like a racist- or a sexist.

Actually, if Clinton wins, maybe drugs will be come an issue with her too.

Has anyone ever asked her the question? Would she answer it?

[Did Hillary ever smoke pot? Did she inhale? How about coke?](http://stevensonblog.tuscaloosanews.com/default.asp?item=726734)

At least Obama was honest. He talked about this in his book.

Hillary seems so down, I feel for the lady. What a sinking ship. I’m really shocked.

Emeraldkity, you vastly overestimate the integrity of the American right wing - and the clever deniability with which they brew their slime.

Hey, the sympathy factor got her elected to the Senate!. Seriously, though, if she isn’t the nominee, there will be no alternative for her but to know that it was a personal rejection. That’s got to hurt.
