Is History a course that all college freshmen take?

<p>I’m thinking about preparing the SAT World History, I want to take a subject test that would be useful for college classes.</p>

<p>Is History a course that’s in the “Basic College Requirements”?
I googled it and it looks like it’s included in the requirements courses, can anyone confirm this?</p>

<p>If it’s included, would “World History” helps more or will “US History” helps more for the college history requirement course? </p>

<p>Colleges have different requirements on humanities and general requirements that everyone needs to take or already have credit for. For example, MIT requires eight humanities/arts/social science courses throughout one’s undergraduate career, including at least one course from each of the above three categories, but there is no specific “US history” or “world history” requirement.</p>
