Is Indiana really a public ivy?

Is Indiana really that good or is it overrated? I especially want to know how the schools of medicine and engineering are

Not that great–actually IU does not have engineering. The med school is separate and in Indy.

They don’t have Engineering. It’s not an Ivy league school but people consider it a public ivy, but then again, there are about 25 schools that have been coined “public ivies”.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Public_Ivies

And no, Purdue is the Engineering school in the state and IUPUI I think does the Med School.

lol no indiana isnt a “public ivy” yet, not at that level quite yet, schools like uva, umich, ucla, uc berkeley, utexas-austin are the main ones that are considered public ivies (i tink im missing 1 or 2 maybe) and indiana is more on the level of schools like uci, penn state, ohio state. im talking generally, not specific programs. for music and business, i know indiana is close to the top or is considered one of the top ( especially for music).
