Is international knowledge valued at Stanford?

I’m a sophomore at high school. I have a tremendous amount of life experiences - I’ve lived in ten cities all over the world am attending my eleventh school (my father is a diplomat and so we had to move around from country to country every two to three years). I speak four languages.

Apart from these cultural experiences, I do extremely well in school, am active in many extracurriculars, have been doing track and field for 4~5 years, and am truly passionate about science - especially biology.

I’m aware that Stanford promotes diversity and intellectual vitality. How will Stanford value my international background?

haha you sound like the perfect applicant. Stanford definitely values diversity. not saying you’re a shoo-in though, because no one is.
just write good essays about something you’re truly passionate about and pray to the fickle gods of college admissions.

Oh yay! I’ll still have to work super hard though. Thank you!

good luck to you. my best advice (i’m a '13 so i’ve already been through this) is to keep developing and working with your passions. if you run out of opportunities to do so, reach out and make your own. it got me in :)
