Is it a good idea to give my gifted teacher a recommendation letter?

<p>Same with my social studies teacher. I’m really not that interested in social studies, and I personally think that I don’t do anything worthwhile in gifted (in other words, it’s a waste of time). But I know that they both <em>love</em> me and would give me great recommendations.</p>

<p>I just don’t want to give the schools any idea that I’m passionate about those subjects. Especially since the ones I’m applying to don’t have gifted, and I’m not planning on taking any extra history courses. <em>shudder</em></p>

<p>By the way, just out of curiosity - when are you/did you give your teachers the letters?</p>

Aren’t you supposed to give recommedations to just your math and english teachers.</p>

<p>Yup, and principal or counselor. But there are extra optional recommendations too.</p>

<p>If you have a teacher who loves you and would write a terrific recommendation letter then you should ask them to do it. You never really know what they might say that might give a little insight to the reader, and I think it would be good to have it re-emphasized that you were in gifted classes.</p>
