Is it acceptable, in view of admissions, to "recycle" an essay?

For my UC application’s long essay, I wrote an essay about my passion about mathematics and science, and all my peers and teachers said it was one of my best writings. I really poured my heart and ideas into this essay and the most I put effort to in any essays; it’s an essay I’m proud of.

Now I’m applying to Caltech, an university that focuses on math, science, engineering, and related fields, so I believe that this essay is even more suitable to be used as part of my application. However, I am hesitant to actually “recycle” it; I would imagine admission officers being a bit peeved that one would not dedicate an exclusive essay just for them…

This is of course assuming they got hold of my essay for UC

So, what should I do? Should I write a whole new essay or use the essay I already have?

just use this same one

nah its fine. lots of kids do it - schools that have a topic of your choice essay do it knowing that it’ll probably be a recycled essay.

i dont think colleges have the essays that u turned in for application to other colleges. either way, admissions officers KNOW students do it all the time. so it doesnt matter.
