The title says it all… I wrote about how she’s my role model and discussed how financial difficulties and my car accident affected her. Of course, I ended up tying it back to me. However, I’m just worried that admissions directors might just roll their eyes when they see that I’m writing about my mom…
I think the question is whether the essay is revealing about you – your interests, how you handle problems, how you view the world. That is the big concern. It isn’t bad on the surface that your mom is the topic, except that it may be more about her than about you.
