I’ve only ever received 3’s on my AP exams. Will I be really behind compared to other people because I won’t be going in with AP credit? If so, how can I speed this process up to be on par with everyone else?
No, you’re okay. If anything, you’ll just have a late registration date in future semesters (since that is based upon credits).
So should I try to load up on more credits during early semesters? @hailbate
No, LSA curriculum is designed in a way that you can graduate in 4 years if you avg. 15 credits a semester (which is the norm).
Since you won’t have a lot of wiggle room in terms of extra available credits, I would engage academic advising early and often . If you are undecided, that can also help you choose representative sample classes. If you have already chosen an area they can help there too. It is also possible to double major especially if the areas are related within the 120 credits.
Michigan charges the same for 12-18 credits so you can load up if necessary. Some classes are quite difficult and time consuming (e.g. organic chemistry, econ) and they can help you balance your load so you are not overwhelmed.
