Is it bad to only take 2 AP tests this year?

I’m a sophomore and this year im taking AP Chemistry and AP Music Theory. Freshman year I didn’t take any APs/honors. I’m planning to take these two AP tests this year, but I’m wondering if it’ll be enough having only taken two ap tests by the end of sophomore year.

Should i consider self studying, and if so, which ap test would be a good one to self study?

thanks

I think you are more than fine, especially since both of your exams are quite rigorous and impressive.
I, as a sophomore, am only taking 1 AP exam, unfortunately. In fact, most sophomore take one or no exams. Don’t go off the sophomores on CC who take 5+ exams, as they are the exception rather than the rule.

Just do well on your 2 exams. That’s what counts. Maybe take the SAT II in chemistry. I have some friends who took more than 2 and got 3s and 4s and others who took one or two and got 5s. To me, the latter friends seem to be better off. As with many things in life, consider quality over quantity.

You’re already doing very well. I go to a top school and most people take 1-2 AP Exams sophmore year and none freshman yeat

2 APs your sophomore year is great!! most schools don’t offer AP classes to sophomores at all. basically the impressiveness of your courseload depends on what your school has to offer. if most sophomores at your school took 5 APs and you took 2 it might be a problem, but i doubt that’s the case. you seem like you’re in great shape! :)
