Is it better to attend a science summer camp or work in a lab?

Should I attend a good summer camp (i.e. MIT‘s WTP or SSP) if I can get in or work at a lab that focuses on neuroscience ran by Harvard phds?

Thanks

If the lab is fairly local to you, working in the lab has the advantage that it might end up being a longer-term thing that you can continue to do even during the school year. But, you’d want to make sure you are doing research, not just cleaning glassware.

That said, WTP and SSP are pretty prestigious if you can get in. There are also advantages to programs where you write a paper, do a poster session, and give a talk, because that teaches useful skills.
