<p>So, I have a few safeties but my father is saying that going to a community college is better, if you get rejected to your dreams/reaches. I live in California, and I know that there is a good chance of getting accepted to a UC as a transferbut I am not so keen on going to a UC. Im more of a liberal arts/private school lover, but I really think its almost impossible to transfer into an elite private from a community college. Would it be better to go to a safety, and then transfer or would the chances be the same, worse, or better if I went to a community college?</p>
<p>If money is an issue and you are OK with going to a CC then it might be better if you can do really well there, but if you would rather just go to your safties then do that. who knows, maybe you’ll even end up loving the safety. :)</p>
<p>I personally wouldn’t go to a CC, because you would miss so much of the traditional “college experience,” and CCs miss many upper-level or niche courses that you might want to take.</p>
<p>However, the UCs are mandated by the state to accept a whole of people from california CCs, so transfering to the UCs are definetly better with CCs. However, I doubt that would be the case with private schools. If you like private schools, though, then you should go the safety instead, considering I doubt you’d like the UCs very much.</p>
<p>im in similar situation if i get rejected from my main choices. I think it depends on how competitive the lac’s u wanna get into are. The less competitive ones maybe, you’d prolly have to transfer from a 4year school for the more competitive ones. just guessing though.</p>
