Is it better to pick a "well-known" major or a specialized major??

So my school is adding a new business analytics major to our program .

Obviously, this major isn’t as well-known as accounting or finance. Etc. etc. so how does this work for / against you in the future? Is it better to major in a well-known major like accounting where employers know what it is? Or something different like business analytics/ economics analytics? Thoughts??

Also, are there any disadvantages in majoring in something new like this? I foresee weak guidance and possibly a poor start off program (dumb classes/ professors) since it’s so new?

Business analytics has a lot of job growth, so there is that to consider.

Go to linkedin and do a search on jobs requiring business analytics to get an idea of where this is utilized today, agreed w/ Mandalorian, there is a lot of growth on this in the job market.
