Is it difficult to archieve 860 on the new SAT

Is it difficult to archieve 860 on the new SAT if anyone know how many percent I have to answer right o the test to get this score??? there is penalities for wrong answers??? plz I need to know it… THz all

w t f… a 860 in one section is not even possible

and a 860 for the whole test… you probably just got 300 points in each section for writing ur name in or somethin

the new sat is out of 2400, it’s like this 800 x 3 (3 diff subjects, math, reading comprehension/vocab, grammar)

Ohhh I have to see the NAIA for the the new range of scores but I think it s about 50% of the test is so to get 1200 is difficult or not, and I m still confuse about the penalities of guess is there or not??? thx for your attention

Is this a joke? 860? out of 2400? why not just do as well as you can?

eh, i think you’d have to try to do badly to get a 1200. it’s equivalent to getting about eight hundred for the old SAT. you’d have to get more half of all the questions wrong or something…

anyway the penalty for wrong answers is subracting .25 for each mistake off of how many questions you answered correctly. this gives you your raw score, which is converted into your scaled score, out of 800. there’s three sections so full pts is 2400. for the writing section you add double your essay score to the pts you got in the mc section for your raw score.

THX for the information I appreciate if anyone has more informations or tips how can I do to get 50% of the test right plz let me know and I m looking for the best strategy for me to get this score… plz help me I have no time to get this… THX all people of this forum it has been one of the best place to get useful informations. bye

PINTUDAO…You only want to get 50% of the questions right? I recommend you aim a little higher if you want to attend some place better than a community college. A 1200 might have been a decent score out of a 1600, but it’s terrible on the 2400 scale.

A review book a recommend is Collegeboard’s very own The Official SAT Study Guide: For the New SAT, since it was made by the testmakers themselves.

Btw, are there any specific types of questions that you are having trouble with?

this is obviously a joke

No it is not a joke THX Elbereth actually I m a internacional student who won a schoolarship and I need this to get on the league called NAIA I do not need to take SAT for the university so before SAT changed the score that NAIA requires was 860 I think it is half of total. I already sent an e-mail for them to know how much I need but I think it is something like 1200 50% I m confuse about this new score but I m trying to get something like 1200 some people say that it is very easy…other say that it is not… how you can see I m trying to find out… now this forum has many arrogant people like the two above??? if you think that it is a joke do not lose your time writing here… bye

If the NAIA league requires only an 860, then, no offense, but it does not have very high standards because that score is below the national average SAT I score. An 800 on the old SAT I was half the total, which of course is a 1600. A 1200, which was a solid score on the old SAT is pretty poor on the New SAT. It is *very easy * to get a 1200/2400, and I certainly think you should aim higher!!

Joke topic/10

blah, you people need to chill.

NAIA and NCAA have minimum test scores for athletes. For the NCAA, I think that the minimum ACT is a 16? Go get a prep book and work on your English my friend; otherwise, you’re in a bit of a bad spot.

come on people. not EVERYONE is a genius who can get a 1500. For some people, it is difficult to even break the 1000s…give him a break! Quit showing how smart you are by arrogantly mocking him…You got a 1400? GOOD FOR YOU!..Don’t rub it off on someone who is just trying to get a score he/she is shooting for that is lower than yours…

Now, I recommend that you get a Princeton Review book, because they are very good at the SAT…if you study that, you should get a score close to your goal. You should also get the New SAT’s version of 10 Real SATs…Just take lots of tests, and see what you missed and why…You should do decently on the test with that approach…good luck!

P.S. a 860 on the old SAT is comparable to a 1290 on the New SAT, so shoot for something like 1320 to be safe…

neelesh…first of all, I didn’t break a 1500. In fact, I didn’t even break a 1400, so by CC’s standards, I did very poorly on the SAT I. And I wasn’t arrogantly mocking him/her, I just think that PINTUDAO should set better goals for him/herself. PINTUDAO seems like someone with a very low self-esteem, and if you set low standards for yourself, you will not rise above those low standards. I’m not saying that he/she should aim for a 2400 on the New SAT or something like that, but he/she should AT LEAST score above the national average. It’s always good to aim high!

THX neelesh now I have a good idea of what have to do I will try your tip THX Elbereth too I understant what you mean
