Is it "easier" to get into USC if you're from California?

<p>Just wondering, being a Michigan resident, I can honestly tell you, YES it is easier to get into UMICH if you’re in-state… i’ve seen LOADS of kids with 25/26 on their ACTs from my school get in.</p>

<p>USC is a private institution, so not comparable to UMICH. USC is free to seek geographic diversity. If you were asking about the UC system, then definitely yes, California residents have a large advantage!</p>

<p>USC loves geographic diversity and always markets the fact that students from every state and hundreds of countries are represented in the student body. Being from Michigan definitely does not hurt your chances.</p>
