<p>First off, the reason we come here to CC is to get info not readily available on the school’s website. Numbers are facts, but experience speaks volumes.</p>
<p>As someone from the south, where many students hope to go/apply to/get accepted to Rice, I can say that Rice is a very difficult school to get into. In fact, many GCs discourage students from applying, saying, “not even our valedictorians can get in there”.</p>
<p>But my advice to anyone who is interested in attending Rice is to say, Apply. Of course, I wouldn’t ONLY apply there. But put it as one of your reaches. If you get in, great. If you don’t, you will have another choice. </p>
<p>We actually had quite a few boys accepted from our high school here in Louisiana, but only one is going to Rice. Others chose schools with better financial offers, more “prestigious”, or even schools they just really wanted to go to, but applied to Rice as an outside shot. Their declines maybe gave someone on the waitlist a shot, or were just figured into the stats of the admissions people at Rice.</p>
