I changed my major from chemistry to physics. Essentially the situation is that I need to take calc II before the fall 2015 semester and that I need to take calc III and differential equations before the fall 2016 semester. I just don’t have room in my schedule this spring to fit in calc II, so I will need to take it over the summer. In the fall I might not have room to take calc III but I will have room next spring to take differential equations. So my plan was to see if I can take calc II and then III in sequence over the summer.
However… I’m nearing the end of my undergraduate career, so I really need to start some research. After all, that’s what I think I want to do. If I don’t get experience with it I can’t confirm that it’s what I want to do. I need the experience to get into grad programs anyway. I’ve already seen several REUs and SURF programs out there for this summer that would be PERFECT.
…But I’m concerned that I won’t be able to do an internship and the classes. I’m assuming I can’t do both, but I’m just curious if anyone has ever successfully done it?
The reason I need to have these classes in at the times I specified is because I need to take quantum mechanics fall 2016 and spring 2017. It’s only offered at my school every other year so if I don’t take it then I would have to wait 2 years to take it again… No chance.
Any advice would be much appreciared.
