Is it good to only apply for one school?

I was just recently introduced to the whole boarding school thing, so I only had time to apply to one, Andover. Do you think it looks good to the admissions office if you only apply to one BS?

Maybe if you are a legacy, but even that at a place like PA is no shoo-in. In general, no, it is not good to apply to only one if you are really interested in going. Your chances for admittance are about 1 in 9, so those are some steep odds.

On the other hand, if you really focused on just Andover's essays, interview, etc., it could make for a stronger application. But I have to agree with PelicanDad. Keep a realistic mindset, and let us know how it goes!

Yes I know it is not a good thing to do that, but as I said I am VERY new to this and Andover was the only school in that area I really knew about. But my main question is, is does it look good to them.

No, it makes no difference. Every kid who applies would love to attend Andover.
