Is it hard to get into Harvard Summer School for undergratuates?

I am applying to a few summer schools this year. I am wondering if Harvard is selective with their summer school applicants. I heard that brown is not very hard to get into. Is Harvard? Thanks!

Brown summer school that is…

I think these summer school are just all pay-your-way. Might as well tout their name for something profitable.

sylvia plath was rejected from harvard’s summer school

just a thought…

Probably forgot to turn in a section of the app

The summer school is extremely easy to get into.

It is not selective at all.

Is there summer school available at Harvard for high school students? Because I’m an international student and was interested in that. Also, is it much of an advantage when applying to a university that you have been to a summer school and taken a specific course in a college? Will they take it into account in your application?

Sci-Fry, I have heard it is not only fun, but good for college applications if you attend Harvard Summer school. It is not only a summer school where you can take a course. At Harvard summer school they prep you for college, provide you with tactics on how to get into good universities, and you get to meet a diverse pool of people from all around the world. Maybe I will meet you there… at least I am hoping!

Thanks for all the responses!

That’s sounds delightful! I’m really looking forward to it, and my parents, too are encouraging me to do this. My sister went for an IB course in Cambridge as part of the OSC (Oxford Study Courses), and was thrilled on her return because she met so many new people and encountered so many new cultures, not to mention the amount she learned from it. Going to Harvard summer school would be an even greater experience for me, particularly considering that I’m an International student, so hopefully I’ll meet you there :D

Sci-Fry, I did the Harvard Summer School for HS Students (the Secondary School Program)… for two summers. The only downside is that it got my heart stuck on Harvard, where I don’t think I’ll get in. If you have any questions, let me know.

I attended Harvard’s Secondary School Program and highly recommend it to anyone. Harvard offers generous amounts of financial aid to those who cannot afford it. I had the time of my life there and the classes were very challenging but engaging. You can also ask me any questions! :)

Are your grades very important for the application process? My grades are mediocre, and I don’t know if I should apply or not…

hey, i applied to the harvard secondary school program and am planning to take the neurobiology course if i get in. Did you guys live on campus, cuz i live in MA so i’ll prob just commute every day. Also, is it difficult to get in, because i have good grades and good SAT scores, and got 2 crazy good recs from teacher/counselor. I rly wanna go here b/c my goal was to get into the tufts health science honors program (cuz i wanna go to tufts for undergrad), but the course filled up too quickly and now harvard is my last chance to take classes at a university. thanks for the help.
