Is it misleading to take non BB practice tests?

Hi, well im prepping for SAT right now, and am mostly following Xiggi’s method of studying. I bought a bunch of prep books and was wondering if it would be misleading to take non-college board tests.

I read in another topic about how many Koreans take tests from every book regardless, which contrasts with what Xiggi says.

Can anyone give me some advice here?

It’s really not that helpful to take those other tests.

It’s not misleading, but it’s not efficient. Stick with official tests.

lol XD

different methods achieve the same success (:

Koreans would study 25 hours a day if that were possible. Jkjk

About your question: yes, it is misleading to use non BB tests. Sure, Barron’s tests may be harder, but why practice those types of questions if they will never show up? Why would Kobe practice shooting free throws at a 15 foot basket if a 15 foot basket is never used in games?

I understand what you guys are saying but, lets say I wanted to drill a specific section like CR or Writing.

If I continually practiced Writing sections from Barrons, Sparknotes, and Gruber tests, would it help improve my score when taking the 4 hour Blue Book/ College Board tests. Im just wondering if the same tricks and patterns occur in both outside books (like Barrons, Sparknotes, Grubers) and college board books (BB).

I just dont want to end up drilling Barrons, when the patterns are different from College Board, yet I still need to practice…

Just break up the tests in the BB. This is what my book looked by the time I took the SAT:

SAT Tests 1-5: Complete
SAT Test 6: CR and Math done
SAT Test 7: Math done
SAT Test 8: Two sections of Math done.

As you can see, as I got closer to the test I zeroed in on my weakness in math. I also did the essay in every test.

I am going to take advantage of the leftover writing sections to prep for my retake, since despite my 800 CR and 770 M I only got a 680 W.

^ crazy cr =/ wat i do for the kaplans notorious 12 practice tests was:
Test 1-12: W - all complete
then M…
CR - didn’t touch at all XD
