is it normal?

a few of my mom’s friends’ kids’ colleges arrange hotel accomodations and air line tickets for them. my college doesn’t. i have to reserve a hotel on my own and buy the airfares on my own without my college’s aid. is it normal?

i’m feeling agitated because my mom is begginning to think i chose the wrong school and she’s saying that my school isn’t so great even though it was because of her i chose the school.

What school did you choose?

Sorry if this sounds rough but schools are not travel agencies. Just because a university does not arrange for your accomodations does not mean it is a bad school. Anyone who suscribes to this thinking, has got their priorities in the wrong areas.

That’s not really normal. No state school would do that. Even elite privates would only do that if said student was a VIP.

It just depends on the college. Probably better that the college isn’t covering it–every little thing they do for students means more $$$ you pay them.

I’ve never heard of colleges doing this. Usually you have to find your own airplane and hotel.

what? That’s insane … the school is probably a crappy place so they have to do **** like that to attract students … seriously, no self-respecting school arranges your plane tickets, unless maybe you’re an athlete or something … but probably not even that!

West Point arranges your air travel and hotel, and then pays for it.

i’ve never heard of that, my school recommends a place where you can get a discount through the school but thats the extent of it.
