Is it not a good idea to attend CCSF right now?

I currently attend a CC in SoCal as a freshman student. I was planning to transfer to CCSF in the Spring Semester because I was interested in the Green Business program and the school’s amazing soccer program.
However, I have been worried about transferring to CCSF in the Spring term because I heard from my friends that the school is in danger of losing its accreditation. What are the chances that the school will lose accreditation in the Spring semester? Do you think it is too much of a risk for me to attend CCSF from the Spring?

I am a serious student athlete with a current GPA of 3.8 and I decided to apply for CCSF because I thought the school will give me better academic and athletic foundation before transferring to a top university.

Thanks.

@masatosh‌ - It looked quite bleak for a while, but CCSF is still open and still working on there problems. IMO, you have to judge for yourself if it’s in your comfort level to attend while all this is still going on. You can keep up with there status by checking out this website - http://ccsfforward.com/</a> (and reviewing the reports on there progress, they have come a LONG way). They are open and welcoming students.

If you already lived in the area, my personal opinion at this time is that it would be absolutely fine to attend CCSF (knowing you could always transfer to one of the other local community colleges if need be). To move to SF to specifically attend CCSF…would you be comfortable transferring elsewhere if need be at some point down the line?

My personal opinion, based upon how far they’ve come and the progress they’ve made, I don’t believe they will loose accreditation (and I don’t believe they will close). But it’s just my opinion - you need to judge for yourself.

Thank you very much!
