Is it ok not to take English 101 the first semester of college???

All Englisg 101 are filled

As classes have probably not started yet at your community college, people are still changing their schedule. Classes usually open up when the system drops people for non-payment on due dates or during the drop/add period. I personally wouldn’t advise leaving a requirement like that for future semesters because course selection can be limited and it’s just better to get out of the way. Your C.C. may also require all freshman to take that class so consult the specific rules at your institution as well.

You have to take 101 to take 102 so you ought to try to get in as above poster described. You probably have to take four semesters of English and you don’t want to get behind if you want to graduate in two years. As I recall English 101 teaches you the essay format that all instructors want you to use when you write papers. Not taking this basic class could put you at a disadvantage in other classes.
