I’m thinking of applying ED to MCS as a math major with a concentration in OR. After exhaustively comparing both Tepper Business and OR, I feel like OR is a better fit for my interests and is also easier to get accepted to. In addition, I’m extremely interested in the comp. finance program which I could pursue as an MCS math major.

My problem however is that my EC’s and awards are mainly in econ and finance. Although I have won a few science awards, I haven’t done any scientific research research or joined any science-related clubs. I was in Math Team and Math Honors Society though if that makes a difference (I finished high school last year and taking a gap year this year).

Will my lack of science-EC’s hurt me? Do I just have to explain my interest in OR to make the adcoms understand why I’m applying to MCS?
