So I finished filling the CSS Profile (with my parent ofc). And Almost, maybe more than, 50% of my answers end up being “0” or empty. Is it usual?
Could you give some examples?
As long as the information is accurate…it’s fine.
Which entries are you worried about?
@thumper1 especially the parent sections are 0s or empty. Yes they are all accurate.
No income? No taxes? Is that what you mean?
@thumper1 yes, I’m international. and also those “military” questions.
If your income and such is really $0, you can pretty much count on being selected for verification here. The schools will rightly want to know how you are paying regular living expenses with $0 in income or assets.
Be prepared to be able to,document how you are doing this.
One of the things to keep in mind is that there are only 5 schools in the US that are need blind and meet 100% demonstrated need for international students. Because of limited funding for international students, your ability to pay will be a factor in the admissions process at all of the others.
There are lots of schools that are need blind for admissions…BUT they don’t guarantee to meet full need for anyone…including international students. There are plenty that don’t give ANY need based aid to international students.and others who give limited aid to international students…even if they are need blind for admissions.
And in addition, there are some who expect you to show you have the finances to support all four years of college available to enroll at all.
There are only five colleges that are BOTH need blind and meet full need for all admitted international students. And those schools accept about 5% of the international students who apply. Not exactly a slam dunk.
