Is it ok to write about one thing for the essay?

for the essay portion of the SAT, i only wrote about one topic (history) i didn’t do like a history and a literature or a personal experience…am i screwed?

How long was the entire thing? I would say it isn’t good because one example is not significant proof to back something up. If it was long enough I am sure you won’t do terrible.

What if we use one overall example but pick it apart in multiple paragraphs to illustrate different things?

Honestly, people analyze this too much. I wrote about one trial related to women’s rights (1 1/2 lines left at the end) and received an 11. As long as you have proof and you can write, you should be fine.

yea, my essay is like 1 and 3/4 pages long about the women’s rights movement in the second great awakening (the uniqueness essay) and i basically talked about how women rebelled and tried not to be obedient or “fit in” and how society benefited from their gaining rights and freedoms, think that’s good/relevant enough for a 10?

The essay grade is largely based on quantity given considerable quality. So it’s probably around a 10.

I gave one elaborate example and got a 12 once and an 11 the second time.
I am always in the habit of giving one example and it’s still fine for me because I elaborate on my examples
