Aladdin is one of my top 5 movies ever. I don’t think anyone would care if it’s old cartoons, but a guy watching iCarly? Ehh…

The people in my dorm definitely think so.

iCarly is okay for me. Not my favorite show. I definitely HATE their theme song because it sounds so corny.

I love “Arthur” and I watch Disney a lot. Really, it wont matter to other students that you watch kids shows and movies. You are bound to meet people who like the same stuff too so stop worrying; you’ll be okay.

@legend - I wouldn’t put anime in there as a “kids” show necessarily. We get the crappy dubs over here in the states but if you watch the actual Japanese versions of shows like Naruto (I use that as an example because it’s already been dubbed and the dub is lousy) is much darker. I dare you to say something like Code Geass is for kids.

But other shows like Disney movies, totally. But if they’re on sometimes they’re fun to watch for the memories (although I can probably safely say some of Disney’s stuff is pretty dark too, it’s source material is anyway).

really there is nothing wrong…I am 19 and I still turn on some shows from the Disney Channel and there are a lot of college students that went to see Toy Story 3 and Shrek 4. So there is nothing wrong with it.

I also watch Boomerang quite regularly, most likely to look back at some memories from childhood and there is nothing really else that is good on. And a lot of the shows on Disney and Nick, especially Nick at Nite has content that is loved by adults. It uses adult humor and adult situations. Relax

Really you are in another generation, generation Z and they are first starting to enter college. They seem to be a lot more conservative than the Gen Y college students you are hanging around with. Gen Z starts in 1991.

I have friends that watch iCarly, etc… not as uncommon as you think.

iCarly is really designed for teenagers…back then there were shows that were a lot like iCarly, but they were shown on prime time. You ever heard of Saved by The Bell or Square Peggs?

I brought the entire boxed set of The Last Airbender to college.

“HURR DURR, SWEARING IS SO MATURE AND COOL. I AM MATURE AND COOL AND YOU ARE NOT.” I hope the people posting that sort of stuff are joking. I mean, I do swear a lot, but it doesn’t automatically make you an adult or something. In fact, it doesn’t really make you special in any way. How ridiculous.

Anyway~ OP, I watch Spongebob Squarepants, Ren & Stimpy, and other cartoons on my laptop. Also, I’m a huuuuge anime nerd (admittedly, some of that stuff is terribly embarrassing to watch in front of others, though…). In college, nobody’s 100% normal. Everyone has some quirky addiction/hobby, so don’t stress out too much about yours!

There’s no shame in watching good cartoons like Spongebob, Garfield, Ed Edd and Eddy, etc., not to mention classics like Loony Tunes. If people ask why, say you’re thinking about taking a critical studies class. If you watch them non-stop for pure enjoyment, that’s OK too, but people might start asking you to bum them some weed.

I think any shows where there are beeps during the whole show is stupid. It is iritating to hear all the beeps, they you dont even know what they are trying to say. If i were you i would not watch any more tv and start watching vids on utube. There is much cooler stuff there and not many comercials. And they have music too.

I still occasionally watch an episode of Codename: Kids Next Door or another cartoon from my childhood every now and then when nothing better is on.
