<p>I could use some advise. I only have a ged, I am going to community college, and I am poor. I do have good grades in the community college and I would say that I am far from being stupid. I have not taken my SAT or ACT so I do not know what my scores will be there but I usually do well with tests. I would like to go to Cornell to study psych. but who knows if I have a chance. What can I do to increase my chances?</p>
<p>How did you do in high school (in terms of grades, volunteering…etc.)? I would say just try, perhaps complete some of Cornell’s required courses and apply as a transfer! But I think you should speak with a counselor at Cornell and tell them about your situation…Good luck ;)</p>
<p>well he has a GED, meaning he didnt go through high school but recieved a diploma by some other means (i.e. homeschooling). getting into cornell is far from being a dream for you, you definitely have a shot if you get your stuff together. I agree with acerbic, you should definitely talk to some admissions councelors. ask them if you should take your standardized tests, how many units you should have, what classes you should take, etc.

<p>You have a chance. Cornell sent reps to Northern Virginia Community College some time earlier this year. GC said they were seriously looking into what applicants from CCs had to offer. Just remember to do your best. Don’t try. Do.</p>
