Is it possible for me to transfer out of Davidson in 1/2 years?

So here’s my dilemma guys. I applied for a full scholarship back in the fall and ranked my colleges respectively: Emory, Davidson, and Northwestern. I was accepted in December and matched to Davidson on a full ride. So it is a binding ED agreement. I was SUPPOSED to withdraw my applications from Emory and Northwestern, which I did but for some reason my Emory’s regular decision application still went through. Usually in the Scholarship when no colleges match you, you’re sent through the RD process. So I just found out today that Emory accepted me back in March, and I’m missing financial information, etc. Obviously, I had to decline because of the binding agreement to Davidson.

The problem is I live in Georgia and had my heart set on Emory since the beginning. It would be better for me financially (traveling expenses, cars, etc) and time-wise to just go to Emory. Is there any possible way of transferring out of Davidson after Freshman year?

yes. ED agreement just states that you have to attend if they accept you barring any financial complications. Once you get in, you have every right to transfer if you want. They can’t force you to stay.

Emory accepted you as a new student. They did not accept you as a transfer student. You would need to reapply and often its harder to get in as a transfer. Has Emory offered you a full ride away from the scholarship? Does the scholarship allow you to transfer and take the rest of the years worth of $ with you?
