Is it possible that a first year's roommate would be a second year?

Eh so i got my roommate assignment and did some facebook magic and found the person who im pretty sure is my roommate, because they are from the same city as the area code and they have the same last name that pops up when i googled the number… but on their fb it says UCLA '13 and Highschoolname '09 which would make her a year older than me… is this possible?

yep it is possible

Yes. Both of my friend’s roommates during his freshman year were upperclassman. He lived in Courtside.

How do you even find them on facebook? All I know are my roomates first names and their phone number ):

[Reverse Lookup by Phone | 411.com](http://www.411.com/reverse_phone)

crap. i only have one roommate and idk i’m judging the book by its cover… -.- and since my roommate is older than me would it be better to switch?

i would say wait until you meet them; how much can you figure out from a facebook page?
age really doesn’t matter a lot…everyone’s in college. and who knows, the next person could be worse.

It’s all good. Think of it this way, you technically only have to tolerate whomever you’re living with (whether they’re the same age/year or not). You don’t necessarily need to become friends with them or hang out with them. You’ll find plenty of friends on campus that are your age that will distract you most of the time anyway. I say, as long as your roommate is clean, doesn’t smell, and is generally an okay person towards you, things will be ok.

framlove is right; UCLA isn’t assigning friends, they’re assigning shared housing. There will be plenty of other people for you to meet who are frosh, and having someone who’s been at the school for a year can be useful when it comes to getting basic questions answered about where things are, etc.
