Hey guys, I’m an international applicant so I’m not an expert on American universities’ application policies and I there is one thing which I need to be clarified. The thing is that in my country and in many others you are allowed to apply to the same university multiple times. That is, you can apply for a university U in the year 2013, and if you don’t get in, you wait for a year and apply there again, and if you fail again, you can repeat the process indefinitely as far as I know. The question that I’m asking here is that is it the same case in America? The reason why this is important for me is because I’m doing the IB system, and the way it works is that we receive a lot of our results later than you guys do in America (I think you already know the grades for your AP courses before you apply right?), and thus I will be at a serious disadvantage compared to American applicants. So I would like to have the chance to apply again next year when I already have all of my achievements listed and all that, but do I have it?

Also on a side note, how do you think the IB program is recognized in America? Because on one side the IB advertises itself as “known throughout the world”, yet I’ve heard many people saying that most American universities don’t even know what it is. What is your opinion on this?
